Buying or Renewing .COM Domains? Good Savings with Domain Cost Club

Buying or Renewing .COM Domains? This post shows how to save $59.37 by purchasing 2 .COM domain names for 2 years with domain privacy services. This is a price comparison between 2 different domain registrars – my current domain registrar and my previous domain registrar.

Buying or Renewing .COM Domains? Good Savings with Domain Cost Club

I am a fully paid up member of Domain Cost Club. This allows me to buy or renew my domains at special member prices which provides me with good savings.

Savings made by me on March 19, 2016

Earlier today I renewed 2 of my .COM domains for 2 years and opted for domain name privacy.

These are third parties so offerings and prices may change over time. These prices also do not include any applicable taxes and the like which may also need to be paid.

DescriptionDomain Cost Club Member Prices on March 19, 2016My Previous Domain Registrar Prices on March 19, 2016
2 years domain registration for the first .COM domain name$15.70$33.98
2 years ICANN fee for the first .COM domain name$0.36$0.36
2 years domain name privacy for the first .COM domain name$0.00$19.98
2 years domain registration for the second .COM domain name$15.70$33.98
2 years ICANN fee for the second .COM domain name$0.36$0.36
2 years domain name privacy for the second .COM domain name$0.00$19.98
Paypal processing fee 5%$1.61$5.44
Totals$33.73$114.08
The Domain Cost Club member price was $7.85 per .COM domain name per year and $0.00 per year per domain name for domain name privacy on March 19, 2016.

My previous domain registrar price was $16.99 per .COM domain name per year and $9.99 per year per domain name for domain name privacy on March 19, 2016. I am not sure if they absorb the Paypal processing fee or the ICANN fee.

Pretty Good Saving

As I am already a fully paid up member of Domain Cost Club, I saved $80.35 on my purchase today. I paid only $33.73 verses the $114.08 price, saving $80.35 in the process. I paid less than 30% of what I would have had to pay if I was not a member of Domain Cost Club.

For people who are not currently Domain Cost Club members they would need to add the cost of membership. The Lite Membership type allows members to buy up to 5 domains using Domain Cost Club’s At-Cost pricing model and costs $9.99 per year.

DescriptionPrice
2 years Lite Domain Cost Club membership $9.99 per year * 2 (for 2 years)$19.98
Paypal processing fee 5% of $19.98$1.00
The Domain Cost Club membership cost (see table above) of two .COM domain names with domain privacy services for two years$33.73
The Domain Cost Club Lite membership cost plus the associated Paypal processing fee plus the Domain Cost Club member’s cost (see above) of two .COM domain names with domain privacy services, all for two years$54.71
So becoming a Lite member of Domain Cost Club and purchasing 2 .COM domains with domain privacy services for 2 years results in a saving of $59.37

Paying $54.71 verses the $114.08 price, saving $59.37 in the process.

And paying less than 48% of what it would cost if you purchased these services from my previous domain registrar.
Domain Cost Club sells domain names and website hosting at really good prices to members. I use them. I joined as a member in late 2014.
All of my domains were transferred over to them by the middle of 2015. They are my preferred domain supplier since then. I wrote a detailed review which you will find here.
If you purchase domains, I recommend you visit Domain Cost Club and buy a membership. Then you can buy domains using very good pricing. You can also optionally buy hosting for the domains you have registered with Domain Cost Club.
To learn more about Domain Cost Club or to see if the domain name you want is still available, I recommend you visit Domain Cost Club. I may earn if you purchase a Domain Cost Club membership using this link.

  1. I like the savings on the Domain names. I believe once I start creating additional websites I will strongly look into this but as of right now I have my hands full just with one. Having numerous domains I believe would be great for mini-websites?

    • Hi Troy,

I focus instead on showing examples of achieving realistic savings. To cover the cost of membership, you do need to purchase a number of domains through Domain Cost Club, and if you normally purchase domain privacy for each of your domains, the break even point is quicker. Some domain registrar’s still charge a hefty fee for domain privacy on an annual basis and for each domain name. This adds up quite quickly if you have a number of domains. The example I outline above is to renew two .COM domain names, each for 2 years and includes domain privacy and the saving in my opinion is quite a lot.

Once you are in the market for a number of domain names, look at this again, just from the point of view of looking at the savings you could made. Also their service department respond quickly and professionally which is also good. And their “control panel” to manage the domains you purchase using your Domain Cost Club membership is very user friendly. All great reasons to purchase/renew your domains with them.

      Have a great day,
      Cheers,
      David

    • Hello Clems,

This is a great place to buy domains. I used to buy/renew my domains with other domain registrar’s, however now purchase/renew all of my domains with them due to the excellent healthy savings I make now due to Domain Cost Club membership.

      Have a great day.
      Cheers,
